Middle School Drama Teacher
I am a Toronto native who has called Vietnam my home for almost 10 years. My 11 year old daughter and I currently live in Nha Be with our foster cats and 1 dog. What else can we say except that we love our home.
Over the past decade I have been fortunate to be able to expand my educational pedagogy and knowledge while experiencing the wonderful world that Vietnam has to offer. I have seen great development and optimism each day which I am grateful for.
Throughout my teaching career I have taught various grades, subjects, and abilities. I continue to strive for an inclusive and adaptive learning environment to enable all types of learners. My undergraduate degree, in Criminal Justice and Public Policy, provided me with the vision that all people can learn, given the right environment, and led me to pursue a career in teaching.
Graduating in 2004 from Teacher’s College in Ontario, I spent some time teaching in Canada and traveling through West and Northern Australia. It was by chance that in 2008, I visited Vietnam for the first time, and I feel very lucky to have had that chance.
I began my journey here in 2010 with CISS (The Canadian International School System) in its second year. I still drive by Panorama apartments in District 7 and can see my old classroom. Such great memories and an amazing beginning.
I have since furthered my knowledge within education, receiving my Special Education Specialist in 2013, and deciding to take the leap into Drama and Theatre in 2016 –noting the great benefits The Arts have in personal development and growth. I am excited to continue my teaching journey with The American School.
