Mr. Julius Lagare

Dance Teacher

Mr. Julius Lagare was born in the Philippines and so began his life of dance. As a young dancer, he received the Youth Achiever Awards both for excellence and Artistic Discipline. He changed directions, became a choreographer, and went on to win 1st prize in a national competition in CCP (Cultural Center of the Philippines). Shortly after, Julius got a call from Japan inviting him and his piece to perform as a representative of the Philippines in Fukuoka. Dance later carried him away to Atlanta Festival Ballet and company-guest member of Ballethnic Dance Company. Today he lives in Vietnam where he spent time training the next generations.  

Mr. Julius holds the following degrees:

  • AB bachelor of science in mass communication 
  • NATD National Association of Teachers of Dancing (Contemporary Dance)
  • ISTD Imperial Society Teachers of Dance (Imperial Classical Ballet)
  • TESOL 120-hour Ceritificate 

Mr. Julius Lagare is a multi-disciplinary dance artist and teacher with an international exposure. His passion as well as the professional competencies that he has accumulated through an extensive training and exposure to different dance professionals and companies qualifies him to be considered in the search for dance faculty. He learned hip-hop and street jazz in the very locale of its invention- the streets. it was there where he was discovered by the first dance company that he had his foundation in dance training and pedagogy At 16, he was invited to join, Southern Philippines’ leading contemporary dance and theater company the Teatro Ambahanon Dance Company. As a former Associate Artistic Director of TA (Teatro Ambahanon) and command performances all over the Philippines. He also Joined a summer internships at the Cultural Center of the Philippines’ Ballet Philippines Dance Company.
