Ms. Stephanie Carlisle

English Teacher

Ms. Stephanie Carlisle has been named Middle and High School English teacher  beginning August 1, 2023. A native of green, rainy Seattle, WA, USA, Ms. Stephanie  moved to Boston to pursue her graduate studies in 2009. After six years of teaching  English literature and writing at two Boston-area schools, she left the States to travel  full-time and soon found herself living as a digital nomad, teaching English online  and doing freelance work in editing and social media marketing. In 2022, Ms.  Stephanie was delighted to return to full-time classroom teaching in the Federated  States of Micronesia, where she lived and taught English and French at a boarding  school on a tiny tropical island.

Ms. Stephanie holds the following qualifications:

  • BA from Seattle University in Humanities for Teaching
  • MEd. from Boston College in Secondary English Education
  • State of Massachusetts teaching license in Secondary English (8-12)

Ms. Stephanie has worked with students of all ages in many different contexts, from  tutoring and after-school programs to classroom teaching in a tiny special education  private school, a traditional college preparatory school, and even a school where the  classrooms didn’t have solid walls. She looks forward to bringing this flexibility and  willingness to adapt to the TAS community, where she imagines there will be fewer  crabs in the classroom. In her free time, she loves traveling, yoga, and trying new  foods.
