Elementary Department Head
I am a born and raised Floridian and a lover of nature and outdoor activities. I have 16 years teaching experience that consists primarily of teaching in the United States and one year teaching at an international school in China. In addition to classroom teaching, I have served as a new teacher liaison, peer coach, and professional development trainer. I have also worked with multiple committees and organizations at the local, district, and state levels in Florida dedicated to the improvement of student performance and educator effectiveness.
Philosophy and Objectives:
I am an enthusiastic, creative, and passionate educator who believes that all students can learn and thrive in a safe learning environment that is built upon the foundations of trust, relationships, risk taking, problem solving, and critical thinking. My objective is to help every student develop the critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to be confident life-long learners and push them just enough that challenges them to develop and grow to their full capacity.
As a transformative leader and coach, my objective is to enhance the progression of education for TAS students and teachers. This will be done through the implementation of collaborative partnerships with teachers with a focus on building instructional capacity as it relates to best practices.
I enjoy playing old-school board games like Sorry, Trouble, and Checkers.
