Mr. Alun Thomas
Head of School
Dear Parents, Staff, and Students,
It is my honor and pleasure to introduce myself to you.
My name is Alun Rees Thomas and I have been offered and accepted the prestigious position as Head of School at TAS for the next academic year.
I am a British national, having graduated and trained as a teacher at the University of Wales. After working in the UK in both the Primary (Elementary) and Secondary (Middle/High School) sectors, I embarked on an extensive career in an international career, working as Headmaster/Principal at schools in Ascension Island, Iran, Iraq, Bahrain, Sudan, Thailand, South Korea, and China as well as being the first Principal of BIS in Ho Chi Minh City and the founding Head of School at Renaissance International School Saigon. My experience has provided me with the opportunity of working within both the British and American systems and I have personally taught classes of students from the age of 4 — 18.
I very much look forward to joining TAS and to working with a dedicated and committed staff, supportive parents, and enthusiastic students to ensure that all of them are given the best possible teaching, support, and guidance to achieve their full potential.
I am looking forward to meeting you all personally and to working with you to make what is already a good school, into a truly great one.
Yours sincerely.
