Mr. Phil Nguyen is the CEO of The American School of Vietnam. He moved back to Vietnam after 30 years living in the US with an ambition to set up an American curriculum school in Ho Chi Minh City. Mr. Phil’s dream was to open a good school in Vietnam to develop a fully American culture and standards for Vietnamese students and for his own children- 2 sons- to continue their study in a real American curriculum while living in Vietnam. In 2010, the school was launched and Kevin Nguyen and Keith Nguyen, Mr. Phil’s children joined the school. Both Kevin and Keith are now in the US for their college after graduating at The American School. Kevin was graduated in 2015 with significant effort and being one of the best graduates of The American School. He is now doing a Business Manager degree at Suffolk University Boston, Massachusetts of the United States.
The school started with 50 students but increased 850% after 6 years operating, TAS is now a well popular American school in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam which is fully accredited by WASC: Wester Association Schools and Colleges. The school is planning to move to a bigger campus in August 2018 in a new location with plans to have up to 1600 students.
